Membership Benefits

The Kenya Meteorological Society actively promotes the development and dissemination of information and education on the atmospheric and related sciences through its numerous programs and services.

One of the most important benefits of membership is to support the strategic aims and objectives of the Society and the wide range of work it does for the betterment of mankind through encouragement of research on atmospheric phenomena.

Founded in 1987, KMS has a membership of more than 200 professionals, students, and weather enthusiasts.

  • Able to attend, normally without charge any meetings arranged by the Society like the International Biennial or the National Workshops. This brings together scientists, policy makers and weather enthusiasts for lively, informed presentations on weather-related issues.
  • Able to attend, at a discounted price, any meetings arranged by the Society for which a registration fee is levied
  • Eligible to contest a post at the KMS AGM.
